Print Ads Preferred over Digital Formats

Last month, the global research agency Millward Brown partnered with Dynamic Logic to survey Americans regarding their attitudes toward different types of advertising. While many may think that traditional print advertisements have lost ground to digital advertisements, the results of this study beg to differ.

According to the study, United States consumers are likely to view offline media ads more favorably than digital ads. TV took the lead at 49%, but magazine ads (41%) and newspaper ads (40%) followed closely. Compare this to a mere 28% favorability towards opt-in emails, 22% for ads displayed online, and a mere 9% for mobile ads.

This study, which was a part of Millward Brown’s annual AdReaction series, was conducted using qualitative/quantitative methodologies, with a total of more than 6,000 interviewed.

Green Printing: More than a Matter of Paper

Recently, many green consumables that pertain to printing have been released. This includes eco versions of inks, plates, wash-up systems, and several other pressroom products.

According to Sean Lane, the product manager of offset solutions at Fujifilm, “Green consumables don’t come at an increased cost.” He contends that switching to a greener version of ink or fount solution won’t actually cost the printer any more than the standard, non-eco friendly versions. Lane goes on to say, “There is nothing to say that if you go green you will have maybe a narrower tolerance or worse performance…The analogy is cars – you can have a greener model that is actually better than the last model too.” Printers don’t have to sacrifice quality or performance when choosing to be more environmentally aware.
