Digital Printing vs. Offset Printing

Digital Printing vs. Offset Printing

The two most commonly used commercial printing techniques, today, are digital printing and offset printing. While there are some similarities between these two technologies, there are also pros and cons for each, which should be weighed before deciding which to go with for your custom printing needs.

Offset Printing

Offset printing is commonly known as the traditional printing process. With the use of actual ink, the quality is almost always far superior to that of digital printing. If you’re printing a large quantity of pages, offset printing is also your best choice, from an economic standpoint. The one big thing you’ll need to consider, when using the offset printing process, is time. Offset printing can take days longer than digital, meaning you’ll need to allow time for the process to be completed.

Digital Printing

Digital printing is a printing technique that is usually done by using toner and oil (much like a laser printer or color copier), as opposed to ink, which is used during the offset printing process. This style of printing is outstanding, when you need an incredibly quick turn-around time, thanks to the reduced amount of equipment and maintenance needed. If you are having a small quantity of items printed, then digital printing is often the more affordable option. However, while the efficiency of digital printing is great, the quality tends to be lower, when compared to offset printing.

Here at Color FX, we offer both offset and digital printing, to make sure that whichever printing process you decide to use, we’ll be able to help you out with our outstanding color printing services.

The Benefits of the Custom File Folder

The Benefits of the Custom File Folder

When most companies run through the list of custom printing they will need, the items included are almost solely marketing items. While printed marketing material is essential to the branding and promotion of nearly every business, there is another side of custom printing that is often overlooked: printed material that can be used in your workplace.

By having customized items with your company logo on them for your employees to use, you’re creating an environment that takes a greater sense of pride in your brand. One type of item that you can create for your employees to use on a daily basis is a customized file folder.

Here at Color FX, we can create file folders that feature your corporate logo, as well as specific file names to help you and your team stay organized. The personalized touch and extra step will go a long way in keeping your employees invested in your company, long term.

Color Printing vs. Black and White Printing

Selecting a custom print marketing design for a business often consists of a long series of decisions that need to be made. One of the most common choices that anyone who is having printed material produced needs to make, early on, is whether to go with color printing or black and white.

Black and white is usually less expensive, making it seem like the front-runner, initially. However, the benefits that come along with having bright, vibrant, eye-catching printed material for your customers are well worth the slightly higher price tag.

For example, if you were looking into having catalog printing done, color printing allows you to display information in a way that is easier on the eyes of your customer. Graphs, charts and photos are able to be shown in more detail that will draw your potential customers in, as opposed to leaving them squinting and trying to differentiate between multiple shades of gray.

If the cost of color printing is still leaving you perplexed in your decision, consider looking into purchasing your color printing wholesale, from an online color printing company such as Color FX. With outstanding deals, you’ll get all the benefits of vivid color printing — without breaking the bank.

Bottom line: black and white printing is perfectly fine, when you’re a student who’s rushing to turn in a term paper, but, for businesses who are interested in projecting a professional image, color printing is almost always the way to go.
